MAH #1 Topside Process Hydrocarbon Releases

This type of hazard is associated with topside hydrocarbon releases, which could potentially occur due to multiple factors, including leakages from flanges and valves; corrosion and erosion; overpressure; manufacturing defects; faulty equipment / machinery etc. Ignited events from a topside release could potentially lead to escalated consequences affecting adjacent process equipment / risers. Furthermore, this event could also lead to loss of command and control facilities, excessive environmental damage, production / asset loss, potential fire and explosion scenarios leading to multiple fatalities, and likely to cause loss of company reputation.
